Adventures with Rice Cereal...

Whose to say you need to eat rice cereal when you can obviously absorb it through the skin...much easier and less clean up.

She seems pleased with the whole situation! We told her not to play with her food but wearing it was never discussed.

Camryn- Live and in Color!

Camryn wanted to tell you herself about life as a 6 month old so I have included her recorded message for your viewing and listening pleasure. Enjoy!

Once again proving that Colby is the favorite parent, this is Camryn at the Aria in Las Vegas laughing at her Dad! I have yet to master the Donald Duck impression so I guess I will never be the favorite.

The infamous green beans...not our favorite food.

Truman's New Accessory

I thought people may enjoy seeing Truman and his "cone", because it pushes his ears back he has a permanent sad puppy look about him now. The sores behind his ears look like they are starting to heal though so maybe he can go part time with the cone soon.

Correction and Guilt Points

Come to find out Camryn is not teething after all but has an ear infection. To top it all off her eardrum ruptured because of the pressure...apparently this is normal in infants and it will heal on its own with the help of some antibiotics and ear drops but I now officially feel horrible for forcing teething rings on a child whose ear hurt...ugh. I know there was no way of knowing, she never pulled on her ears or ran a fever, but this incident has added some serious points to my guilt scale.

On a happier note Camryn enjoys Truman's cone as it is a handy place for her to grab on to and pull Truman over to play...I don't think he enjoys it as much as she does.

Taking a bite out of...teething.

Camryn is now teething...and you would think the world is ending. It's a pretty pathetic site to see and with nothing I can really do about it (no, I have not rubbed whiskey on her gums but it may help me cope better) we have survived on baby Tylenol, teething rings and Colby's new solution of dipping her pacifier in just enough frosting to distract her from the pain. While Camryn screams bloody murder her brother Truman is now wearing a "cone" for the majority of the day as his allergies have gotten so bad that he has large open wounds behind his ears and on his neck. So amidst the screaming picture a large and dopey dog bumping around the house and attempting to jump on the couch forgetting he has a new "accessory" that makes that task rather difficult. This has lead Truman to express his distaste with the situation by laying directly on top of Colby's head just in case we had the opportunity to forget about him and his predicament.

This is the life in the House of Kahl.

The Many Faces of Camryn

Wanted to share some random photos of Camryn...I especially like the "scary" face.

Looking forward to tonight, dinner with Annie and the girls, Camryn decided to spit up all over herself in the car this morning but Nana is nice enough to wash her dress for me while I am at work so Camryn has a cute outfit for our Girls Night Out.

Starting rice cereal up again this week, after a break to deal with the stomach bug, hopefully Camryn starts enjoying it more and we can start some more interesting foods soon.

Camryn has started to really enjoy watching and interacting with Truman, she follows him with her eyes all around the living room and cracks up when he licks her feet- so far Truman has found it quite funny himself!

The Babysitter Search

Where does one find a babysitter? With the coming of wedding invitations and our first anniversary finding a reliable babysitter has been a common discussion in the Kahl house and I don't know where to start. All the major websites require paying a monthly fee to belong to a "sitters club", I work with students that want to be teachers but having the students I work with in my house seems like a weird line to cross- where are the girls like me when I was in High School looking to babysit and make some extra cash? (this is where Colby would insert some line about how I should start searching the choir rooms and theater club meetings in the area) I am going to start asking around work some more I suppose and see what I can find- a date night would be lovely!

On the topic of Camryn I have decided that Colby is definitely the favorite parent. Although, I have gotten the occasional giggle it's like Saturday Night Live when Dad is around- everything is funny! Whether it be kisses, Donald Duck impersonations or playing with her own feet Colby is a comedic genius in Camryn's eyes.

Truman

Well...if a trip through the big wide world of Camryn didn't do it for you here is a Truman update:
Spoiled as usual Truman is doing well, he is still on Valley Fever medicine and has now developed a bad case of allergies. Truman is enjoying having his own backyard and even got to experience the Disneyland Kennels...not a fan of going through Security but loved the road trip (maybe its because Dad took a seat out of the car and brought his bed, toys, food and water all so he could be "comfortable" on his way to California.

Camryn

As I have become very aware since becoming a Mom although people may ask you "how are you doing?" they only really care about the baby, so here are some Camryn updates, pictures and general cuteness.

Please Note: Camryn has asked me to transcribe her comments since she has not mastered typing yet...

My First Christmas! Due to my unbearable cuteness my Great-Aunt Bev and Aunt Becca came to visit me (and I suppose my Mom, Dad, and Grandparents) the week before Christmas. We took a trip to Glendale Glitters and my Aunt Becca got my this adorable headband. We enjoyed the Christmas lights and all the holiday festivities.

Great-Aunt Bev had a good time with Mom and Dad's Margarita glasses! Not to mention her first trip to the Vera Bradley store.

I have recently come to find out that there are food choices out there besides my yummy formula, and even though I have been given a few tastes on my lips I am still not allowed to eat big people food...but I sure like to try. Despite the fact that I can't eat it Mom still makes me help with dinner.

In February I had my first two trips out of state and I had a great time! First Mom and Dad took me to Las Vegas...to meet up with Grandma Allison, Grandpa Earl, Christina, Wally, and some new family we had not ever meet before! I got to explore all the cool hotels from the comfort of my stroller and got to spend the nights relaxing in Grandma and Grandpa's hotel room. Don't tell Mom and Dad but I even got to try some Maple Syrup at the Luxor Buffet...much better than the Green Beans Dad forced me to try before.

DISNEYLAND!

Yep...you heard me people- Disneyland! After getting my "First Visit" button Mom, Dad and I headed off on some wild adventures through the "Happiest Place on Earth". I love "Small World" and could not get enough on the colors, movement and sound- even better we did not have to wait in line! Next was "Pirates of the Caribbean" which was fun but I kept getting water splashed in my face since we were on the first row. The birds at the Enchanted Tiki Room were cool, but really high above my head so it made it hard to see. I was so worn out by the time we got to the Haunted Mansion I decided to take a nap as we floated through the cool and dark room in these funny little pods. The weather was not perfect but Mom, Dad, Truman and I all had fun! Truman even got to stay in the Disneyland Kennels and we got to visit, walk and play with him through out the day!
This is me and Dad on the Tram heading into the park!

My Uncle Jeremy got me this really Rockin' outfit for Christmas and now that I am big enough to wear it Mom made me once again take a picture. Rock On!

With the weather being so nice Mom and Dad took me on my first picnic and I had a great time. Mom and Dad didn't even need to be there...I entertained myself just fine!

Now, while I am a very content and happy girl...
I do have my moments and they usually happen when I am forced to wake up before I am ready.
This is me on a normal day!
This is a not so good day...thanks for the wake up DAD!

Now, being that both my Mom and Dad are big Sun Devil fans it was about time for me to meet Sparky. He is a cool guy but he doesn't say anything....

A Fresh Start...

So...I claimed that I was starting a blog and 2 posts later I had abandoned my ideas of fame and fortune as the next great blogger and got swept up in life. With a renewed energy I am starting again and this time I will prevail!
